We all know by now that a green roof is partially or fully covered with vegetation and a growing medium, planted over a waterproof membrane. Now the term blue roof is catching on. I was not aware of blue roofs. This is very interesting though. I can see how it would work along with a green roof. I do see more and more building going in this direction for the future though.

I think this is a great idea. It is a great way for business to help reduce flooding and water pooling in areas that are prone to that sort of behavior. Plus, I'm sure they would get some sort of tax break.

I never really heard of these blue roofs before, but they sound like a pretty good idea. They will really help a lot of areas out that are prone to flooding.
